I’m Robin, a Software Engineer by weekday, and weekend blogger. I’m here to offer my experience with aging gracefully. I’ll share practical tips and product recommendations to help seniors and caregivers make homes safer and more comfortable for aging in place. I’ve been through some tough times with parents who could have benefited from safer aging in place strategies. As they aged, I learned some lessons along the way. I researched the topic to death in order to get a grip on my fear that something tragic might happen unless we put some safeguards in place. Also, somehow I’ve magically entered the “silver haired” group myself (although I’ve been a camouflaged silver haired since my 30s, but we won’t go there). I feel young at heart, but my body sometimes tells me otherwise. Since recently entering my sixties I’ve noticed subtle changes in my dexterity, I trip more often, tumble on the stairs more often (luckily no serious injuries). In my mind, I’m still running marathons, my last one was 6 years ago. My aching skeletal system put an end to my long distance runs. I’m not stopping though, I’m adjusting…I’m still highly active and I hope to be until I take my last breath. I prioritize a healthy body and home, and I plan on aging in place for as long as possible!
